The compressor of an aircraft gas turbine engine supplies the mechanism with the required air. With its 14 stages of rotation blades and vanes, the compressor increases the temperature of the air by pressurizing it.
After leaving the compressor through the exit guide vanes, the air enters the diffuser – a duct that decreases air’s velocity and increases its pressure. The extreme heat and high stresses created by thermal cycling in this area require best considerations when choosing raw material and manufacturing method.
Setforge manufactures hot forged aluminum diffusers for fast velocity reduction with a minimum loss in total pressure.
As a trusted partner of the aerospace industry, Farinia supplies the entire sector with high-quality components for a wide range of configurations. All our parts are precisely manufactured and controlled in order to fulfill all safety requirements.
